Business valuation professionals with accreditation from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) enjoy one of the most prestigious and widely-recognized credentials offered. ASA business valuation analysts have been recognized and accorded expert status by a variety of both U.S. and international courts and governmental agencies.
In 1981, ASA recognized the business valuation profession had evolved to a sufficient level of knowledge and professionalism to be recognized as a separate appraisal discipline. At that time, the ASA established the Business Valuation Committee and began accrediting members in the business valuation discipline. Thus, ASA was a pioneering business valuation professional organization.
Membership and accreditation by the American Society of Appraisers in Business Valuation is acknowledgement that the business valuation professional has reached the top of his profession.
